Yesterday we gained another 6 kittens as our pretty feline glamgirl finally went into labor. It took quite a bit and was pretty painful for Nebbie, especially at first, but mommy and kitties are all fine now. I’ll write up a more detailed log of what transpired later, but here are some pics!

So yeah, now we have 11 cats.. Gonna be a lot of fun, heh.

I have moved twice this year.
My husband lost his job, we both gained two jobs.
My new lovely city is giant and has a fucking river going threw the middle of it.
I get to see my sister, niece, and a lovely bunch of people everyday.
I am sadly always tired.
——————————-
My sister was kind enough to offer use two jobs, manage her retirement home and also work at her pizza place. So I cook a lot…almost every day, two meals for the tenants and then pizza’s out the arse.
Luckily I don’t work both everyday, some half days and at least one full day off every week.
In all rights getting paid plus free room and board is a kick ass deal. Plus all the free pizza I can make.
Did I mention I have cable? FLIPPING FUCK CABLE I MISSED YOU. Sure nothing is ever on but …
now there is more of the nothing and that’s awesome.

I was gonna post pictures but I just finally got my routine set so I haven’t had a lot of time before hand. I’ll either start posted a lot more or just drop off the face of the interwebs again for awhile.
Not that I have anything all that grand to write about…

We took Comet back to our local vet the other day to check up on him after the accident. We still weren’t sure whether or not he had a broken rib but a few days ago we did notice a small hole on his back. Right on top of his spine was a hole a few millimeters wide and it was completely open, you could see right through it. I don’t know why we didn’t catch that before but it was yet another reason to get him checked out.

We made sure to go early so we’d be the first in their half hour walk-in. It didn’t take long after we arrived that they got back from walking their dog and had a look at poor lil’ Comet. I’ve been going to this vet for years and I’ve always had the husband looking over out pets but this was the first time the wife took a look at it. She’s usually the one that handles the surgeries and such.

Anyway, she didn’t think that Comet broke a rib, but even if it had been broken when the accident happened it most likely was already healing rapidly since he’s still so very young. There’s still a lot of cartilage in the place on bone. She looked at the hole in his back and thought that it was probably the most likely cause for all the air in his lungs last time as well. We had her take his temperature to see if he was getting an infection and he was indeed a little on the warm side with a 39.5C (and slowly rising but Comet didn’t like it anymore). So we had her give him a shot to keep him well and protect him from infections. He’ll be just fine in about 2 weeks. After that we can come back and give him his normal shots.

LaysLays

It’s a known fact you are running out flavours when you start putting out Fries n’ Gravy and (I shit you not)Roast Chicken. The idea that one could encapsulate either in a processed potato slice is too hard for the mind to fathom, so instead of fathoming it, I just bought one.

The verdict? Pleasantly tasty.

I was expecting very lightly dusted salt with maybe some basic pepper seasoning, but instead I got enough gravy like seasoning on the lays so it felt satisfying to eat, but not enough to make each chip overpowering. It tasted more gravy than fry, although I would assume lays+salt=Fry in a chip. The seasoning itself was savoury, not very throwaway, with a slight(irritating) aftertaste. I have never been a fan of lays, but this sort of represents lays for me. Fry in a chip. My favorite flavour of lays, better than Doritos Nacho Cheese, but still not as good as classic Cheetos Puffs

Being considered a retard when it comes to modern tech, my last attempt at installing drivers resulted in not one, not two, not five, but FIFTEEN of the same graphics process running and no driver update.

Well, I successfully removed them all, and of last night, am running ATI omega drivers. It’s fixed a ton of graphics issues, and this combined with me dusting out the interior of my computer, means no more overheats(woo-hoo), and more playing of the PC games I missed out on(WOO-HOO!).

I feel so proud of myself.

Ill be playing/reviewing civilization 4 and all its glorious, crash free(I hope) expansions very, very much so.ATI card

Yesterday evening I noticed that our youngest cat Comet was acting weird, screaming and biting me while I tried to pet him. When he later went to sleep on the bed, I tried petting him again and he did the same thing. Only this time I could clearly see that something was very wrong.

He was screaming in pain, you could see it in his face. It was heartbreaking to see this little kitten hurt so much. If you’d only touch him on his side he’d scream. I knew he had to see a vet right now so I called but of course ours is not open that late, and it was weekend too so he wouldn’t be back in until monday. Luckily they leave their machine running with a number you can call for emergencies.

So I called the number and a lady answered who instantly went into a coughing fit. I explained what was wrong and she gave me the address to go to. Ok, but it is a few miles away and we have no car so we had to take care of that first. That wasn’t hard to do though since our handyman tends to be on standby. So I called them back and told her our estimated time of arrival.

The handyman picked us up (mom came too) and we headed there, took about 15 minute total so it wasn’t that bad. Comet was screaming and digging in the car carrier the entire time though. Not because of pain this time, but fear. Cats can’t seem to figure out what the hell is going on once they get into a moving vehicle. They can tell they’re moving but it doesn’t make any sense!

Anyway, once we got there, earlier than expected, the lady arrived shortly after and opened the door for us. We opened the cage and had her take a look. It didn’t take her long to diagnose him, he got a punctured lung. There is air trapped under his skin now and it makes a ‘crackling’ sound when you go over it. She listened carefully to his breathing which seemed normal, not suffocated or anything. There’s a chance he may have broken one of his ribs but he was too hurt at the time to find out for sure without taking x-rays. She said regardless the treatment would be the same though, painkillers and lots of rest.

She gave him a shot (painkillers) which he didn’t care much for at all and handed us more to give him throughout the weekend. It’s only 0.36mg a day but he’s a small kitten so I guess it’s enough. When we went on the ride home he was quiet and you could see he was getting tired. Once home e slowly started to sleep even though he initially tried to fight it.

We have to keep an eye out to see if he has any trouble breathing, or even starts to pant, and his nose should not get any paler. If we have any doubts she said we should just call her again right away. So far he seems to be doing fine though, but we’re still going to see our regular vet on monday.

As for the cause she didn’t know but as he is a very active cat that likes to climb trees (fast) he may have fallen on a V-shaped branch. That would surely do it and especially the past few days he has been chasing up other cats up trees along with Ryan. One may have fought back and smacked so hard he fell off a branch unto another sideways.

Just a short post about my school, thought most of you probably don’t know I’ve gone back to school or maybe I wrote it somewhere… in any case…. Out of 3 test recently I have gotten 3 ALL 3 back with 9’s !!!! ( out of 10 so yea its good) WWWWeeeee for me

Recently we’ve been looking for laptops for me for school and last sunday my father- in- law came over with an early birthday present for me and my daughter. Twin ASUS EEE PC’s. Awesome lil things about 9 inches wide and weighing only 1 kilo. They come with a UNIX system on them so it’s totally universal and expandable and absolutely PERFECT for my school. With the wireless card I have already spent many an hour sitting in my garden and doing my homework. Awesomeness !!!! Nogmaals bedankt!!!

Christ on a nutsack, I need some friends and a life and all that jazz.

Also, I think Twitter has forever corrupted my ability to write bloggish posts over 140 characters.

Spore Logo

Considering myself both creative and godlike, I, among millions of others was excited for spore, and when the trial for the creature creator came out, I was impressed enough to take the plunge and buy the whole thing.

It started off via a paypal purchase, which with tax and a one time fee for eas “extended download service”, came to 18.02, much more than advertised. I also had to create an eastore account(par per the course for any website you buy stuff from), and download EAs proprietary client, where my purchase didn’t appear for about twelve hours. So the process of actually getting this half game is piss poor.

The game itself, at first glance is immensely underwhelming. You have limits on what you can do, there are only twenty options and not as half as much customization as what you expected. It’s a case of peter molyneaux-ism, where expectation succeeds results.

After the initial shock of my expectations not being met was worn off though, I had alot of fun with it. Theres infinite customization here, even if you cant give your creature two hundred legs. Each body part can be resized and molded to a point, the body structures and spines can all be changed and the colour palette is huge, with special texturing for each of the three layers(base, coat and detail) you can add, as well as a large colour palette.

It also animates your creature on the fly and lets you test what the creature looks like, sounds like, and have it do a variety of canned animations. I was a little disappointed with this part, because I didn’t want to see my creature do a halfassed dance, but wanted to see how it interacted with its environment. The creatures children are also similarly underwhelming as their is no difference between creature and young apart from size. Other than that, you can change what background environment the creature is in(from a grand total of FIVE environments), and make it look at you. You can also take pictures, make an avatar(they KNOW whos shelling out for this early), and record videos from the game.

Creating creatures is addictive, and it IS only the creature creator. Not the best 18.02 ever spent, but really good regardless, especially for creative types.
